Quercus shumardii, commonly called Shumard oak, is a medium sized, deciduous tree with a pyramidal shape when young and spreads to a broad open crown with age. Typically grows moderately fast to a height of 40-60'. Fall color appears late, but is often a brownish red. Zones 5-9
