Acer X ‘Armstrong’, is a fast-growing, upright maple, reaching up to 60 feet in height with a 15 to 25 foot spread. This tree has very attractive silver-grey bark. The leaves emerge as a crimson red in spring, turning a rich green in summer, and then returning to a reddish burgundy in the fall. This tree is a great choice for growing along narrow streets because of its narrow growth habit and because its roots won't lift the payment with growth. It's also a great choice for a specimen or shade tree. This tree grows in wet and moist places. Zones 3-9
